: PAUL WILLIAM KELLEY :
I am in pursuit of an artful life—one dedicated to highlighting beauty, creating with joy, and sharing works that connect to the subjects and places that cause me to pause in appreciation and awe.
My artwork emerges from a life lived across rural and urban landscapes. It is this tension—between built and natural, urban and rural—that stirs my heart and drives my artistic exploration.
My creative practice centers on sketching as the cornerstone of my artmaking, using watercolor and drawing to capture not just what I see, but the essence of a subject and the stories it tells. I draw inspiration from the Master Artists of the past, learning from their dedicated practices and their willingness to explore multiple subjects without narrow specialization.
In these times of turmoil and distraction, I believe art serves a vital purpose: to make people aware of eternal things and remind viewers of the beauty that surrounds us all.
My work responds to this calling by creating statements that seek to highlight beauty and awaken artful inspiration in others.
